This is an in-depth estate planning unit, developed by the University of Technology (UTS) Sydney, Law Department. It has ten topics, covering the full depth of specialist estate planning advice and is run for professionals in a 3 x 2-day format over three months.
Earn a Certificate of Completion from the UTS Law School which can be used as a credit towards a university degree and satisfy some of the international Society of Trust and Estate Planning (STEP) practitioners' criteria.

The Lecturers
John Taggart RFD BA LL.M (Course Coordinator)
Senior Academic and Course Coordinator. John has been with UTS for over 31 years involved in teaching Business Law and Corporations Law at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. He is currently re-designing the taxation law modules to an interactive format for 2010. Estate Planning is seen as the "capstone" subject for all his students.
Michael Perkins (Host Lecturer)
Michael is a passionate advocate of the role of socially responsive estate planning in the community and the benefits professionals and individuals can make to the community through their Wills. Michael is a practicing lawyer with over twenty years experience in trusts, estates and private client practice. While continuing legal practice,
Michael is also a published author and lecturer in Estate Planning at Sydney's University of Technology and holds the TEP qualification from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Michael is a Principal at Andreyev Doman Lawyers.
Paul Evans (Co-Lecturer)
Paul has degrees in arts and law from the University of Sydney. He is an Accredited Specialist in Wills and Estates Law, and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. After qualifying as a solicitor in England in 1992, Paul worked in London in the Private Client area specialising in inheritance tax mitigation, estate planning, administration of estates and charity law. Paul also worked at Perpetual Trustee Company Ltd, Sydney in 1994/1995, and during that time he was admitted to practice in NSW. Paul has worked in private practice undertaking estate planning, administration of estates and probate litigation. He joined National Australia Trustees Limited (part of NAB Privatewealth) in 2007 and is the Regional Manager for Estate Planning in NSW and Queensland. Paul is a regular speaker on Wills and Estate Law at seminars providing continuing legal education for solicitors and other professionals.
